Summer Academy 2009

The summer of 2009 proved to be another exciting season for our Eagles ministry…

35 collegiate men and women in the Academy, representing 24 different schools from around the U.S., bonded together for one purpose!

A return to Brazil, where we saw new programs developed and existing ones growing like crazy - and plenty of great soccer!

12 soccer camps in the Chicago area, with over 830 boys and girls participating!

Hundreds of lives positively impacted forever!

Mixed in with our trip to Brazil and our soccer camps were a variety of other activities.

Both our men’s and women’s teams competed in the highly competitive Illinois State U23 league. We spent several days working with boys and girls through programs such as World Relief and Special Olympics. And we took some time off to go camping and run our very own “Amazing Race” during our Team Week.

We are very encouraged by the quality of young men and women who participate in the Academy each summer. Seeing the impact that it has on them and on those they reach continues to be “beyond all we could ask or imagine”!
